Nursing tank ruffles
This is my first tut so I wasnt sure how many pics to take and what to take pics of but I think this one is pretty simple so it shouldnt be to hard to follow. I'm not much of a ruffles kinda gal but I thought this would be cute for summer.
I took a ordinary nursing tank(got this one from good ol' wallyworld) and I ordered some optic white knit from fabric.com for only 1.95 a yard!
The first thing you want to do is fold your knit in half.
Depending on the size of your breastisis you may want to make your cut a little longer but mine is 12 ins wide and a half yard length wise.
I then folded about 5 inches from the top(but you can fold directly in half) so you should have 4 layers. Mark this spot with a marker. Then you are going to straight stitch with your tension at 0 the whole way across your fabric on your line
Next your going to leave a tail at the end of your fabric and pull on one end and move the fabric so it gathers on the thread.
You are then going to put the fabric right around the neckline of your shirt so that the fabric is open and the gather is laying flat
Make sure you are not sewing on the neckline because then the elastic wont stretch. You can feel where the elastic is when you are sewing so just make sure you keep that close to your presser foot.
Once you get to the end just back stitch so it stays.
Your tank should look like this.
Or pretty similar if you folded yours over evenly.
You can totally leave it like this but I cut my top fabric about a inch shorter and the second from the bottom about a inch shorter so it was more of a layered look. Here are the final results.
It looks much cuter on but in true motherly fashion,I havent showered in days and I have been puked on twice today,so no pictures on. But I plan on wearing this to a party we are going to this weekend so pics to come.
Enjoy! :)

Something for myself
I did the first thing for myself in over 8 months last week. I read a book, from start to finish. Ok actually I read 3 books... :) The Hunger Game series. They were a great light read, easy to follow and entertaining. I even liked them enough to put them on my Harry Potter bookshelf :o
I also bought something for myself which never happens anymore. I bought some fabric to make myself a dress for when hubby comes home! Will post tutorial when its done!

My first blog
I decided to start a blog so I can have a easy way of keeping up and sharing everything with family and friends about whats going on with the TWINS and our everyday life. And maybe I'll even throw in some tutorials here and there.
While my spelling and grammar may not be perfect, please keep in mind I am most likely writing this in the wee hours of the night,or rocking and nursing the little monsters back to sleep.
Enjoy... :)
